Gonna try it again

Well, it appears we'll be "stuck" here in our old home-town of Salem, Oregon a bit longer than we'd hoped.  We're stuck, because our truck is in the shop for some major repairs.  Looks like it won't be done and ready until next Tuesday, maybe, if we're lucky, Monday evening.  Sigh.....  Yes, that's the cab of our truck hanging there above everything else (good way to get to the engine compartment, I guess!!)  The problem is a leaking head gasket, and that is obviously, a major issue!

No time to go anywhere, because we have to be back on next Thursday for a visit to my dermatologist (removing some scar tissue from my shoulder) and then a wedding next Saturday.  We'll have to extend the time of our rental car and our RV space.  Sigh again....

In the meantime, we're hooking up with old friends here, maybe we'll go to the State Fair which starts tomorrow, and purchase (small) items that we need.  (No room to store the big-ticket items we need.)  We are also enjoying the fresh Willamette Valley produce, and visited EZ Orchards yesterday, one of our favorite "farm" stores.  They ALWAYS seem to be crowded whenever we go there.

We always like to visit with George & Carolyn, especially when their granddaughter is there...she's a kick to visit with!  (I think I was blinding the poor girl with my flash!)  She's just 10 days older than our grandson.

We visited this restaurant for breakfast in the little town of Detroit on our way across the Cascade Mountains on Sunday.  It had quite the motorcycle theme, and as we were leaving, I noticed all the sculptures on the roof, and then a group of motorcyclists came in!  Perfect setup!!

I got some new trifocals early this week, and I think they finally got them right.  As far as I'm concerned (because I'm a bit farsighted), my glasses are for reading and being able to see the computer screen and the music books on my piano.  The first attempt didn't cut it, so I took them back and had them re-done.  Looking good now, I hope.

I'm making a few changes to my blog page as I have the incentive.  It may not change much very fast!!!  Have patience with me as I learn the ropes.

t is a good thing the head gas,et didn't blow in the middle of the Sonoran Desert! Your wheels will be as good as new. Enjoy your visit while you wait on the truck to get mobile again. Enjoy your vacation, the wedding, and your friends!!
